(Meet Mago Contributor) Kushal Poddar

kushal bio picBorn in a warm corner of India, Kushal Poddar, a lone child brought up with only his shadow mates, began writing verse at the age of six. He adopted English, his second tongue, as the language to dream on. Widely published in several countries in prestigious anthologies such as Men In The Company of Women, Penn International MK, and Van Gogh’s Ear, he was also featuredby Tupelo Press in the Poem-a-Day project for the month ofDecember in 2013.  He has been interviewed and read his work in various radio programs in Canada and the United States.  Poddar collaborated with photographers for an exhibition in Venice, Italy, and with performers for several audio publications.  He has said that he believes “Poetry is a tool to arrest the vast beyond within the canvas of personal experience. To limit the limitless so our thirst and longing for it remains unquenched.”

Poddar currently lives in Kolkata and writes poetry, fiction and scripts for short films when not engaged in his day job as a counsel/lawyer in the High Court At Calcutta.  Forthcoming books are The Mood Study Of A Cold Cup and A Place For Your Ghost Animals.
