(Poem) In the beginning by Janie Rezner

In the beginning was the LIGHT

the light shone forth in all directions

creatures great and small, basking in the light

resting upon the earth like babes nestled against their mother’s  breast

were utterly at peace

In the beginning was the LIGHT

the light shone forth in all directions

creatures great and small, basking in the radiant light

were touched by all things:

the curve of a branch   ~   the  tiniest leaf   ~   patterns against the sky

the sound of the wind through the trees

a joyous bird song

the throaty chorus of frogs

the rosy  rays of evening light

the velvet silence of sacred night

the innocence of the lamb

the trusting of a child

In the beginning was the LIGHT

the light shone forth in all directions

creatures great and small,

basking in the healing  light

were touched  by all things

for their hearts were OPEN
