About PLACE A PLACE OF HER OWN (PLACE) https://www.aplaceofherown.org, an arts based healing program. This series of workshops, culminating exhibitions and artists’ talks uses intuitive art making processes for self-reflection and sharing to address and release ancestral trauma. Participants learn to recognize and release ancestral patterns, including links to family, and cultural dysfunction. To claim aspirations and self-worth, the art exhibition provides a way to artistically answer: “If you had a place of your own, what would it be?” Leadership Development: The program continues to provide workshop alumnae with opportunities to develop self-agency and leadership skills. Alumnae are invited to participate as exhibition artists, workshop facilitators, speakers and event coordinators.
