(Song) Oh Holy Dawn by Dale Allen

“Oh Holy Dawn” was first sung in 1999 in my musical theater production, “Dancers of the Dawn.” The play featured a cast of 7 women of different ages, shapes, sizes and colors who tell the untold herstory, and who as modern women, experience the ways the sacred feminine flows through their lives. At the time, Isabel Donahue was an infant, whose mother, Arden was part of the cast. We all took our coveted turns to hold the baby at rehearsals! Now, Isabel sings the song in this new vocal recording over the original piano track, bringing the gift of her angelic voice.

“Oh Holy Dawn” by Dale Allen • Lyrics

Oh holy dawn

The sun is surely rising

It is the morn of the Goddess’ return

Born in us all

She holds all life as sacred

Our hearts rejoice in remembering Her

Her body is the Earth and all creation

All life is free to thrive in peace and joy

Rise to your feet Oh hear the ancient voices!

Oh love within Feel Her strength and love within

Oh love di-VINE

Oh love

Her love divine
